Becoming Rooted: A new chapter in life and business
This blog entry was written back in April 2026 after being away from the internet for 2 months. As you read, I pray that you’re able to connect and be inspired…
I didn’t disappear because I had nothing to say. I stepped away because I needed to figure out what actually mattered. For the past few months, I’ve been a bit quiet on social media and for once, it wasn’t out of inconsistency or lack of ideas. It was intentional. It was necessary. It was personal. This wasn’t my first time stepping away. I’ve taken breaks before last year, even a few years back. But if I’m honest, those moments felt more like pauses. This time felt different. This time, I didn’t just step away, I stayed away long enough to actually change. I know we hear it all the time but believe it or not life off the internet is actually so much sweeter.
The Pause I Didn’t Plan, But Needed
Going into the new year, I had actually already made a decision I wanted to step away from social media starting January 1st just to reset, decompress, and figure out how I truly wanted to show up after a year of being on and off and inconsistently. But what I didn’t plan was stepping away from my full-time job from January to March. That part happened unexpectedly. and somehow, it happened at the perfect time. What started as a simple social media break turned into a full life reset. I ended up taking more time than I originally planned but I needed it.That time gave me something I hadn’t had in a while, space. Space to slow down. Space to think, space to take care of myself in ways I didn’t know I needed. It kinda felt like I was going experiencing a re-wire.
Living More, Posting Less
Instead of filling my days with constant scrolling or pressure to create I leaned into living. I spent less time on social media and more time being present in my actual life. I’m not going to lie, life off the internet is one of the most freeing experiences. The days even seemed longer. I built a routine of going to the gym six days a week something that once felt overwhelming became part of my lifestyle. Moving my body stopped being about aesthetics and started becoming about discipline, clarity, and feeling good from the inside out. I began intentionally cooking meals for myself a lot more, exploring different foods, and being more mindful about what I was putting into my body. I also allowed myself to explore new approaches to my health like trying acupuncture and visiting a naturopathic doctor. Not because I had everything figured out, but because I was open to learning what actually works for me, not what I see or hear everyone else trying and doing. Even after being pescatarian for almost 10 years, I found myself open to trying something different for the sake of my health. I can’t wait to share more about this in an upcoming blog post. This season wasn’t about having all the answers. It was about being open enough to ask better questions.
Finding Joy in Slower, Softer Things
In the middle of all of this, I started leaning into hobbies…real ones. Not content-driven hobbies, just things that felt good. Floral arranging became one of those things but it actually started before this break. Back in November during one of my solo outings, I took an Ikebana workshop that introduced me to it, and something about it stayed with me. During this season, I leaned into it more. There’s something about working with flowers, choosing them, arranging them, taking your time that feels grounding in a way I didn’t expect. It forces you to slow down, to be present and to create without pressure. It brings me peace and in a season where I was learning how to take better care of myself, that mattered. I spent a lot of time at my favorite café, usually with a matcha in hand, just thinking, planning, or simply being still. I also found joy in simple routines like going to church on Tuesdays for Transformation Tuesday. I made it a point to attend jazz nights once a month at a local hotel and most importantly, I spent more time with my family intentionally. During this time I was able to do many things I desired to but couldn’t because my weekdays were consumed by my full-time job.
Faith, Growth, and Stepping Outside My Comfort Zone
Somewhere in the quiet, my relationship with God deepened. Not in a forced way. Not in a “I have to do this” way. But in a real, personal way. I found myself praying wayyy more. Reflecting more. Asking for guidance instead of trying to control everything and in that process, I also did something that pushed me outside of my comfort zone, I was a guest on a podcast where I openly talked about my faith. It was a small moment, but a meaningful one. A step into being more open, more honest, and more aligned.
Building Something I Didn’t Realize I Was Building
During this time, I also had the space to fully develop something that’s been growing in the background for the past two years, Socially Rooted. Looking back, I realize I’ve been building it without even fully realizing it. In 2024, I started editing content for a creator. In 2025, I stepped into social media management for businesses and began coaching creators as well. During this break, everything became clear. I finally had the time to define the message, the intention, and the direction behind what I’m building. I was able to take professional photos, spend time refining my vision, and realign everything with who I am now. Socially Rooted is no longer just something I do. It’s something I love.
Becoming Her (Inside and Out)
This season also changed how I see myself. I did a full closet clean-out, not just to get rid of clothes, but to redefine how I show up. I started choosing pieces that align with the woman I’m becoming. Not who I used to be but who I’m growing into because how you show up externally is often a reflection of what’s shifting internally.
How This Time Changed My Approach to Social Media
During this time, I realized something important, I don’t just want to help people grow on social media. I want to help them show up with clarity, intention, and alignment because I’ve experienced what it feels like to create from a place of pressure, inconsistency, and burnout. I’ve also experienced what it feels like to step back, get grounded, and move differently. That’s the difference. That’s what I’m building now.
What I’m Building
This isn’t just a return to posting. This is a new chapter. I’m relaunching my platform and my website as a space where everything connects:
- Social media management for brands and businesses that want consistency without chaos
- Content creation and editing that feels intentional and aligned
- Coaching for creators who want clarity, not just trends
- A blog that speaks to real life, growth, transitions, faith, lifestyle, and becoming
This space is no longer just about content.
It’s about building something rooted.
Moving Forward
I’m not coming back as the same person and honestly I don’t want to. I’m more intentional, more grounded, and more aware of what matters and what doesn’t and I know I’m not the only one in a season like this. There are so many of us learning how to slow down… how to take care of ourselves, how to rebuild quietly and intentionally, without needing to have everything figured out that’s what this space is for. Not perfection, not pressure, but growth. The kind that happens over time. The kind that’s real. The kind that lasts. So if you’ve found your way here, whether you’re starting over, evolving, or simply trying to move with more intention, I invite you to stay.
To return.
To check in.
To grow through it all alongside me.
Because this isn’t just about where I’ve been. It’s about where we’re going. A space to love, to learn, and to grow together.
